Film Synopsis:

Once known as a rubber estate in the early 20th Century, the affluent suburb of Bangsar has now become a byword for gentrification. With its influx of businesses, culture and people, the influence of Bangsar has now affected surrounding neighbourhoods such as Kampung Kerinchi where the process of gentrification is at its midst. As the surrounding neighbourhood becomes rebranded as ‘Bangsar South’, long-time residents will now have to deal with the change in community, culture and lifestyle as a result of gentrification. This documentary film explores the complex issue of gentrification happening in Kampung Kerinchi and how it reflects upon the already gentrified Bangsar as an example.
