This is a special multi-arts showcase of stories of the lived experiences of discrimination, poverty, and access to education of Orang Asli young women.

The showcase will begin with the screening of Digital Stories crafted by Orang Asli girls from Kampung Pawong, Simpang Pulai, Perak.

This will be followed by a series of creative performances by Orang Asli young women produced as an output of a 5-day oral storytelling workshop held in conjunction with the festival.

After which, we will premiere a new short documentary, ‘Tak Kesampaian’

Synopsis: Despite poverty and socio-cultural hindrances, some Orang Asli youths do rise above and complete their secondary education. Nevertheless, their struggle doesn’t pay off. Despite achieving good results in their Form Five examinations, they had received rejections from higher education institutions. The film explores the responses from the community and educators on the factors leading to this issue.
